Love

I love you, you love me too
We need to be together, we need to be forever
I love you, you love me too
We need to be together, we need to be forever
You text me from the corner, booth at 10
I'm still in my work shirt, keys in my hand
I take the long way home just to cool off
And hear your voice and
I come back around
You leave your mug on the table by the sink
I leave my jacket on a chair in the hall
We talk about rent, gas, bill, the groceries
Like it's nothing but it's everything after all
Some nights we're tired and barely make a sound still
I know your steps in the dark by now
No big speech, no perfect plan
Just you here, just me here
Figuring it out
I love you, you love me too
