Twirl

There in the heather you spin
Out your laughter
Feeding the clover and grace
Chasing after.
The wind in your hair like a banner unfurled
My bright little dancer
My whole little world.
And watching you twirl in the wide and singing
Open light.
I wonder what shadows will fall with the night
What storms will rise, what fears may swirl.
But still you twirl, my little girl
Though the world turns wild and wide
Your shepherd walks before your stride
So twirl, twirl my little girl
Let your laughter light this world.
The
Lord who paints the skies in pearl
Holds every step you take.
So twirl, twirl my little girl.
In his hands your future curls
For every storm the winds unfurl.
He keeps you for his sake
Someday your footsteps will wander down the valleys
