My Promesses

There's a subtle change
in the air, a glow
Of a faint breeze we let yourself.
Maybe I keep holding on, maybe
You're waiting there.
Maybe this is where
It ends, maybe we just play pretend.
Promises on the fingertips,
Promises navigated through my heart.
Promises on the fingertips,
Promises navigated through my heart.
Pouring the rain on the rooftop,
City hums beneath my feet.
I play the words we trade,
Try not to taste the beat.
You said trust was like a river,
Flowing over broken stones.
Now I'm standing in the shallows,
Trying to find my way back home.
Promises on the fingertips,
Promises navigated through my heart.
Promises on the fingertips.
I said I'll find a home.
I'll follow this
Road to the top, I won't.
