The Unspent Years

I gave you my word.
I'm coming for you
Let the whole world hear it.
I'm seeing this through
Viking nose bones cut deep.
Some words cost more to keep.
They offer me peace
With your name cross
I used to say always with you in my side.
Now
I say it louder when there's no reply.
I carry that promise.
It's heavier tonight
I wanted that shelter.
I wanted you more
Then say that
Then take the hard road.
I'll take mine too.
