We Made A Home

I sit across and watch your head
We built a castle in the sand
The morning light begins to rise
I read the sorrow in your eyes
It's hard to find the right words to say
When we both know we must turn away
We made a home from all our hopes
But now we find no way to call
We love too well.
We love too deep
But this is not a life we can keep
There is nothing we do can change the end
You will always be my dearest friend
The quiet room feels full of light
We held each other through the night
No words left spoken in the air
Just soft goodbyes and silent care
These memories will never fade or blur
Of every moment and every gentle word
I'll keep them safe inside my quiet mind
The sweetest love
