My Little Boy Became A Man

My house forgot what laughter sounded like
After she went home
Above the
Walls grew old with every passing year
Waiting for the voices that
I loved
My son still dreams beyond these doors
My daughter found her own new life
I thank
God for their happiness
And walk these rooms alone at night
My home grew quiet in a different way
The day he chose another road
My little boy became a man
Then carried love into his own
I SMILED AS I LET HIM LEAVE
Like every mother knows she must
Every night just silence whisper
Who will grow old
