Unspoken Goodbye

Suitcases resting
By the heavy door
Footsteps echoing
Across the wooden floor
No words were spoken
As you turned away
Just silence left to rule
The empty day
A lingering shadow where you used to stand
Slipping right out
Of my open hand
Through the pouring rain
And the bitter pain
We hold our ground and we break the chain
With a strong mind
And a steady soul
We keep THE FIRE BURNING
OUT OF CONTROL
Loyalty tested
By the final test
Carrying the truth locked in my chest
