You Say, You Are Right

You said trust me.
I know what
I'm talking about
Said it so loud even doubt
Started having doubts.
Everybody at the table went quiet for a minute
Funny how confidence can make an empty
Sentence sound finished
You said you're right.
Does that make you right
Say it twice.
Does that make it twice as right
Raise your voice.
Does the truth get louder?
Standing on a chair.
Does the fact get taller?
Say you're right
All right.
Show me why.
I'm listening
But volume isn't evidence
And confidence isn't proof
I learned that one the hard way, too
Had a boss once tell me
